WHAT'S MY BACKGROUND?
Andy has played nearly 1000 concerts across 4 continents including festivals such as Babylon Festival Victoria and Earthcore festival in Australia, Jump Festival and Popolo della Musica in Italy, clubs such as Attik bar and Somewhere bar in Melbourne, Etno Beach Club and Punto Italia, Dominican Republic, Ocean Cafè, Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde. Moreover he played restaurants such as Il Borgo dei Guidi in Civitella di Romagna, the Mariani and the Granditalia of Ravenna as well as many clubs of the Romagna Riviera such as the historic Amarissimo bath and others such as Salino, Me Beach Taormina, Spiaggia 30, Torakiki Beach, Bagno Rosa, Bagno Anna, Losco, DonnaRosa and so on with private events and weddings. The "Santo Domingo Tour" took place in winter 2021/2022 with more than 20 gigs in the venues and beach bars of Las Terrenas.
Andy Maggio is singer-songwriter who accompanies himself with the loop station, in the Australian busker style. It was in the land of kangaroos that Andy learned to play this way, overlapping loops and effects with guitar vocals and acoustic and electronic percussion. Andy Maggio has been calling Melbourne home for several years. The Pearl on the Yarra River was the creative epicenter for Andy's musical expression and enhanced his natural feeling for live music and sounds, from rock to electronic music. Each of Andy's songs tells a new story and makes his values known. While taking piano lessons in his early childhood, Andy's enthusiasm for music grew steadily. From his parents 'vinyl treasures and his student days' passion for guitar, Andy's sound gradually took on a style of its own, which he expanded from the rock influences of the first album, 'Waking Life' to the groovy funk of the single. Italian, Californa Pura. His musical development would then take an entirely new turn in Melbourne clubs, working with Rudy Burningman and the Versus crew, on a brand new sound. The influence of electronic music - a genre whose versatility captured his imagination - and live looping artists, such as Ed Sheeran or Australians John Butler and Xavier Rudd, have brought a new style that blends electronic sounds with vocals and guitars. Voice, Guitar, Loop station and Samples bring the feelings of acoustic music, with the influence and atmosphere of electronic music.
WAKING LIFE is Andy Maggio's first EP and follows the video shot in Melbourne of the single "I'm on a roll".
In Australia, Andy has also learned the therapeutic power of music which starts from the intention not only to make people listen, but to make the music "feel" and what it has to transmit. Not just a stylistic exercise but a real story of emotions through sounds and words. In recent years Andy has been experimenting with the use of a different frequency with which he tunes his instruments, the 432hz one, more relaxing and suitable for perceiving music not only as a leisure but as a real spiritual search.
The second album is THE HEALING. This work recounts a healing experience in 10 stages, which led the artist to the decision to pursue the dream of music full time. The healing in question is about body and spirit and comes from being able to freely express oneself, even if the price is to change your life and leave a secure job. For this album Andy collaborated with an Italian-Australian producer, Bruce Gil, with whom an electronic breakthrough in the artist's sound took place. In this album there is the essence of a path of healing, of liberation of the soul. There is the joy of an awakening, which wants to be the awakening of the world. This energy is the basis of all the songs, and the sound makes you dance.
Andy is also involved in event organization, communication and planning. Among those already realized, the Buskers di Classe 2018 and 2019 stand out, 4 events that attracted from 3 to 5 thousand people in Lido di Classe (Ra), the Baciarello Festival 2018 in Ravenna, held in 4 days, the Predappio Buskers 2019, 2020 and 2021 as well as the Popolo della Musica 2019 review in Piazza del Popolo, Ravenna. Last but not least the buskers festival Forlì’n Strada, born in 2021.
