ABOUT ARTIST
WHAT'S MY BACKGROUND?
Andy Maggio is a passionate singer-songwriter and live performer who has played over 1,000 concerts across five continents. His journey has taken him to renowned festivals such as Babylon Festival and Earthcore in Australia, Jump Festival and Popolo della Musica in Italy, and a diverse range of clubs and venues worldwide. These include Attik Bar and Somewhere Bar in Melbourne, Etno Beach Club and Punto Italia in the Dominican Republic, and Ocean Café in Santa Maria, Sal, Cape Verde.
In Italy, Andy has performed in huge venues such as Il Borgo dei Guidi in Civitella di Romagna and popular restaurants like Mariani and Granditalia in Ravenna. Along the Romagna Riviera, he has been featured at iconic venues like the historic Amarissimo seabath, Go Go Beach, Me Beach Taormina, Spiaggia 30, Torakiki Beach, Bagno Rosa, Bagno Anna, Losco, and DonnaRosa, among many others—often for private events and weddings.
His Instagram and YouTube channels showcase numerous live and studio videos, including nine original music videos and over 30 additional performances.
Musical Style and Evolution
Andy’s unique sound is rooted in his busking experience and mastery of the loop station, a skill he developed during his time in Australia. Using live looping, he layers guitar, vocals, and both acoustic and electronic percussion to create dynamic and immersive performances.
Having made Melbourne his creative home for several years, Andy was deeply influenced by the city’s rich live music scene, particularly through his work at the pearl on the Yarra River. His style blends elements of rock, funk, and electronic music, shaped further by his collaborations with artists like Benji Di Ubaldo, Rudy Burningman and the Versus crew.
After returning from Australia, Andy began organizing international winter tours almost every year. With his guitar, he performed in Cape Verde (2019/2020), the Dominican Republic (2022), Egypt (2023 and 2025), and Thailand (2024).
Andy’s early musical foundation began with piano lessons in childhood and blossomed through a love of his parents’ vinyl collection and a growing passion for guitar during his student years. This journey led to the release of his debut EP, Waking Life, which includes the single I'm on a Roll, accompanied by a video filmed in Melbourne.
Artistic Philosophy
Beyond entertainment, Andy believes in the healing power of music. His performances aim not only to be heard but felt—expressing genuine emotion and storytelling through sound. In recent years, he has experimented with tuning his instruments to 432 Hz, a frequency believed to promote relaxation and spiritual connection.
His second album, The Healing, is a deeply personal project that chronicles a ten-stage journey of emotional and spiritual recovery. This transformative experience inspired Andy to commit to music full-time, leaving behind the security of a conventional job. Produced in collaboration with Italian-Australian producer Bruce Gil, The Healing marks a turning point toward a more electronic, danceable sound while maintaining its emotional core and message of awakening.
Event Organization and Community Work
In addition to his musical career, Andy is active in event organization and creative planning. He has successfully curated and managed numerous public events, including:
Buskers di Classe (2018–2019-2022), which attracted 3,000–5,000 attendees per event in Lido di Classe (RA)
Baciarello Festival (2018) in Ravenna, held over four days
Popolo della Musica (2019) in Piazza del Popolo, Ravenna
Predappio Buskers (2019-2020-2021-2022-2023-2024)
